FAQ- Free Classes & Getting Started
How can sign up for a free class to try it out?
Please go to www.defiantcrossfit.com/free-trial so sign up for a free class.
I’ve never done CrossFit before. Do you accept Beginners?
Absolutely. All beginners will complete our Elements for Beginners Course when getting started to learn proper Barbell technique and safety: www.defiantcrossfit.com/elements
I came for a free class and I’m ready to get started. How do I do that?
Please go to www.defiantcrossfit.com/enrollment to contact us to set up your New Athlete Orientation to get started.
FAQ- Classes & Reservations
When should I arrive for classes?
Please arrive 5-10 mins early- your Coach will begin calling people in 5-10 mins prior to class.
Where should I wait before class?
You may wait in your car or in the parking lot. Maintain social distancing. Your Coach will call you in from there. Do not enter into the gym without be directed by a Coach.
What if I am late to class?
Due to the flow of class you may not be allowed into class if you are late. Please wait outside for your coach to direct you.
Am I guaranteed a spot in classes?
While we cannot guarantee any spots for specific classes, it is important to us to help you get WOD time. We monitor the class schedule daily and add spots as allowed for flexibility. If a class is full, add yourself to the Waitlist- often times people cancel and a spot becomes available.
What do I do if I’m struggling to get a spot in classes?

Can I reserve for multiple classes on the same day?
No, this will cause spontaneous cancellations and block other members from getting a spot.
What should I do if a class is full and I’m on the Waitlist?
Reserve on the Waiting List. If anyone from that class cancels, the next person in line on the Waiting list will be automatically added into class. It is your responsibility to check your Wodify app frequently for updates.
Can I reserve for a second class if I’m on the waiting list for another class time on the same day?
Yes. If you are on the waiting list for a class but can reserve a spot for another class time, you may do so.
What happens if I reserve for a class and don’t show up?
A $10 No Show fee will be applied to your account. Reserving and failing to attend blocks other members from using that class spot. You must cancel within 1 HOUR PRIOR to class to avoid any fees. For 5:15am/6:30am spots, you must cancel by 9 PM the night before. We understand that unforeseen issues occur at the last minute, but your failure to attend affects many others.
What if I need to cancel my reservation for class?
Class spots hold a high value. If you must cancel your spot in a class, you must do so in Wodify at least 1 HOUR PRIOR in order to avoid any fees. For 5:15am/6:30am spots, you must cancel by 9 PM the night before. Be courteous to your teammates and allow for the next person on the waiting list to assume your spot and get ready.
If I did the CrossFit workout at home, can I sign into a class to log my score?
We ask that you do not sign into a scheduled class as that would occupy a “spot” . Rather, please sign into the "Virtual Sign In- CF class” scheduled daily for you to record your scores, weights, etc. You will still be seen in the Whiteboard.
Can I bring a friend, my kids or my dogs to class?
You may bring a friend but you must request a spot for them by reaching out to us via text 737-990-2778 or have them fill out the free class form: www.defiantcrossfit.com/free-trial. Kids are welcome but must remain outside & off of the gym floor. Friendly dogs are welcome!
Can I show up to a class and do my own thing in my own station?
No. Each member will participate with the flow of each class. Any modifications will be offered by your Coach.
Can I pick my own station?
Your coach will assign each person a station based on your needs, i.e. Scaled versus RX, Male vs Female, etc.
Can I borrow equipment from another station?
If you require a different piece of equipment in your station for that WOD, please let your coach know and they will assist you.
Can I request an outdoor station?
Yes. You can let your Coach know prior to entering that you’d prefer an outdoor station and your Coach will direct you. Please understand that equipment outdoors may be limited. You’ll have an opportunity to grab some equipment quickly and bring it to your station at the beginning of class.
Is there any open gym?
Yes, we offer a free Coaches Clinic hour every Saturday 10:30-11:30am for those with an Unlimited membership. You will have a Coach on hand to guide you through whatever you choose to do that day.
Can I change my membership frequency at any time?
Yes, please go to our website and fill out the Update Athlete Class Option button at the bottom of the page.
What do I do if I suspect I have contracted Covid-19 or have had a known exposure to someone who tested positive?
If an athlete or staff member tests positive for COVID-19, we ask that they alert us immediately at getfit@defiantcrossfit.com or via text 737-990-2778.
Because we will be tracking attendance down to the person, we’ll immediately alert every single athlete who attended a class with the person infected by the virus, from the previous 14 days. You will not be left in the dark if such a situation arises and we are committed to continuing a line of open communication, even if it’s difficult.
Any athletes displaying symptoms that could be Covid-19 will be asked to leave class and refrain from attending classes until all symptoms are fully resolved, as per CDC guidelines. This is for the safety of the community and staff. We understand that many people experience significant seasonal allergies and we ask that if you do, to please continue your workouts at home until your symptoms are resolved. Any members exhibiting any of the known symptoms will be asked to complete the workouts at home until symptoms disappear, even if you feel fine.
Symptoms of Covid-19 or possible Covid-19 include:
· Cough
· Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
· Chills
· Repeated shakes with chills
· Muscle Pain
· Headache
· Sore Throat
· Loss of taste or smell
· Diarrhea
· Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
· Known close contact with a person who is lab-confirmed to have Covid-19
